'Varsity Blues' Will Get a Modern TV Remake!

The classic teen movie Varsity Blues is going to be turned into a new television series for the new entertainment platform Quibi!

The platform is working on a modern take on the 1999 movie, which followed a back-up quarterback who is chosen to lead a Texas football team to victory after the star quarterback is injured.

James Van Der Beek made his jump from the small-screen to the big-screen in the film.

“For all those who cheered Mox’s refrain, ‘I don’t want your life,’ as well as all those who never heard of the West Canaan Coyotes, we’re thrilled to bring Varsity Blues to Quibi and into the 21st century!” executive producer Mike Tollin said in a statement.
