Haley Smith Dead - 'American Idol' Contestant Dies at 26 in Motorcycle Accident

Haley Smith has sadly died.

The singer, who made it through to the Hollywood round during Season 11 of American Idol in 2012, died on Saturday (August 31) in a motorcycle accident in Millinocket, Maine, according to local police on Tuesday (September 3).

According to the Millinocket Police Department report, Haley‘s motorcycle skidded out on a sharp turn. She was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the accident is still pending. Her family believes she may have been “spooked by a deer,” according to TMZ.
