Reese Witherspoon Learns About Dapping From Son Deacon Phillippe

Reese Witherspoon is getting another lesson about teen slang from her son Deacon Phillippe.

In a new Instagram video, the 43-year-old filmmaker recruits her 16-year-old son to learn all about what dapping is.

“I heard you were going to ‘dap somebody up,’” she questions Deacon. “What does that mean to dap somebody up?”

Deacon then explained that dapping is actually a sort of handshake he does with his friends.

“Is dapping when you go like that?” she asks him, doing a gesture with her arms.

“That’s dabbing,” Deacon corrected her. “That trend died like two years ago.”
