Vanessa Hudgens Responds to Major Backlash Over Her Coronavirus Comments

Vanessa Hudgens went on Instagram Live on Monday (March 16) and her comments about Coronavirus and the possibility that the pandemic could last in the United States until July or August are receiving major backlash.

“Um, yeah, ’til July sounds like a bunch of bulls–t. I’m sorry, but like, it’s a virus, I get it, like, I respect it, but at the same time I’m like, even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible but like, inevitable?” Vanessa said during her Instagram Live, before adding that maybe she should not have said that. We’ve embedded her comments in this post and you can watch.

On Tuesday (March 17), Vanessa posted a statement on her Instagram Story explaining that the clip that is circulating is being taken out of context.

“Hey guys, so yesterday, I did an Instagram Live and I realized today that some of my comments are being taken out of context. It’s a crazy time, a crazy crazy time. And I am at home and in lockdown and that’s what I hope you guys are doing too. In full quarantine and staying safe and sane,” she said. “I don’t take this situation lightly by any means. I am home.”

She concluded with, “So stay inside ya’ll.”

Earlier this month, Vanessa had to hit back at trolls over what they were saying about her recent video.
