Cheryl Burke Hints It Might Be Time For Her To Retire From 'Dancing With The Stars'

Cheryl Burke could be hanging up her dancing shoes sooner rather than later.

The 36-year-old pro on Dancing With The Stars opened up during an episode of Barstool Sports’ Chicks in the Office podcast this week and hinted that the end could be near for her.

“My hips don’t lie, and I’m starting to get tendonitis. For a woman, as far as ballroom dancing competitively goes, normally in their 30s [they retire],” Cheryl shared when asked how long she saw herself doing the show for. “I’m 36, so it’s like, ‘Okay, time to hang up those shoes.’ ”

She also joked that she didn’t want to be “that oldie that’s like, ‘Oh, here comes Cheryl doing the same choreography, just going slow, but in her head, she thinks she’s going that fast.’ I also don’t want to, I guess, be a dancer and have my partner having to be, like, ‘Can’t lift.’ … There’s a time and a place for it all.”

Cheryl was the first pro to win back-to-back mirrored ball trophies in season two with Drew Lachey and season three with Emmitt Smith.

She’s currently competing with AJ McLean this season. Just last week, she suffered a major injury in the ballroom.
