The rumor began when the Green Bay Packers quarterback announced his engagement to Shialene during his NFL MVP award acceptance speech. He thanked someone named “Debbie” and “Chaz,” and then he thanked “Jodie Foster.” Fans quickly realized that Jodie and Shailene have a connection as they co-star in the movie The Mauritanian.

After winning the Golden Globe last night, Jodie finally confirmed to Yahoo, “I did not set up Shailene and Aaron, I have never met Aaron Rodgers. But it is possible that I do like to talk about how much I love the Green Bay Packers. And sometimes I can talk a little too much about that. So of course Shailene was very aware of my enthusiasm for the team.”
