Meryl Streep Enjoys a Night Out with Her Daughter & Son-in-Law at 'Slave Play' Re-Opening

Slave Play is back on Broadway and Meryl Streep was in the crowd to welcome the show back to the New York stage.

The three-time Oscar-winning actress posed for a photo with playwright Jeremy O. Harris while attending the after party on Thursday night (December 2) at Tao Downtown in New York City.

It was a family affair for Meryl as her daughter Grace Gummer and her husband Mark Ronson were there as well. The newly married couple walked the red carpet together at the August Wilson Theatre.

Here is the play’s synopsis: “The Old South lives on at the MacGregor Plantation — in the breeze, in the cotton fields…and in the crack of the whip. It’s an antebellum fever-dream, where fear and desire entwine in the looming shadow of the Master’s House. Jim trembles as Kaneisha handles melons in the cottage, Alana perspires in time with the plucking of Phillip’s fiddle in the boudoir, while Dustin cowers at the heel of Gary’s big, black boot in the barn. Nothing is as it seems, and yet everything is as it seems.”

Slave Play is on Broadway for a limited run through January 23, 2022.
