Melissa Benoist to Star in HBO Max's 'The Girls on the Bus' Series

Melissa Benoist is in talks to star in the upcoming HBO Max drama series The Girls on the Bus.

The series will reunite Melissa with Greg Berlanti, the executive producer of her series Supergirl. He is executive producing the new show with The Vampire Diaries‘ Julie Plec.

THR reports that the series is “inspired by a chapter of Amy Chozick’s best-selling book. The comedic, character-driven drama chronicles four female journalists who follow every move of a parade of flawed presidential candidates, while finding friendship, love, and scandal along the way.”

Melissa will play one of the four journalists.

For those who don’t know, Melissa launched a production company one year ago with Warner Bros. TV and it’s likely that she’ll get an executive producer credit on the series.
