Mo'Nique Takes Over Octavia Spencer's Role in Lee Daniels' 'Demon House' Movie

Mo’Nique will be reuniting with Lee Daniels for his next film, Demon House.

According to Deadline, the 54-year-old actress will take over Octavia Spencer‘s role in the movie, who had to drop out due to a scheduling conflict.

Mo’Nique will star opposite Andra Day, Glenn Close, Rob Morgan, Caleb McLaughlin and Aunjanue Ellis, as a social worker who helps a family through a series of exorcisms.

The Oscar-winning actress last worked with Lee on 2009′s Precious, and they didn’t speak again for 13 years.

At the time, Mo’Nique accused him, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry of blackballing her because she would not promote the film during awards season. Her reason was that it was not in her contract, and she didn’t want to spend time away from her family.

While the trio denied her claims, it sparked a decade long feud.

Just recently, Mo’Nique had filed a lawsuit against Netflix, charging racial and gender discrimination for trying to drastically underpay her for a stand-up special after offering other stars tens of millions of dollars.
