The two season suspension comes after the organization found that he violated the league’s policy against domestic violence. He will now be banned from playing in 324 games following an “extensive investigation,” and the suspension comes “without pay, effective today, for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.”

“In accordance with the terms of the Policy, the Commissioner’s Office will not issue any further statements at this point in time,” MLB added.

He will be eligible to play again in late April 2024.

“In the strongest possible terms, I deny committing any violation of the league’s domestic violence & sexual assault policy. I am appealing this action and expect to prevail. As we have throughout this process, my representatives & I respect the confidentiality of the proceedings,” the pitcher said in his own statement.

Earlier in 2022, L.A. County prosecutors said they will not pursue charges against the baseball star after a San Diego woman accused him of sexual assault during sexual encounters at his home in Pasadena, Calif.

He was previously accused of bullying women online.
