'The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power' Is The Most Expensive Series Ever Made

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is on track to become the most expensive television show ever made.

Just last year, it was reported that the first season of the show had cost around $465 million to make – but that’s just half the cost of what the entire series will end up at.

“This is a full season of a huge world-building show. The number is a sexy headline or a crazy headline that’s fun to click on, but that is really building the infrastructure of what will sustain the whole series,” Jennifer Salke explained of the astonishing number that was circulated.

She added that with that number “there’s a lot of wooing and we have to make decisions on where we want to stretch and where we want to draw the line.”
