Singer & Actor Lee Jihan Killed at 24 in Itaewon Crowd Surge

South Korean singer-actor Lee Jihan was one of the 154 lives lost during the Itaewon crowd tragedy. He was only 24 years old.

If you don’t know, on Saturday (October 29), a crowd surge occurred in a narrow alley in the town of Itaewon, Seoul, leaving over 150 people dead and more than 150 people injured.

The mass casualty incident prompted South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol to order the government to provide disaster medical emergency assistance.

Lee Jihan‘s two agencies, 935 Entertainment and 9Ato Entertainment, confirmed the tragic news.

“Actor Lee Jihan… has become a star in the sky and left us,” a statement read.

The young star competed on the second season of Produce 101 back in 2017. He made his acting debut back in 2019 in Today Was Another Nam Hyun Day.
