“I’m sorry but the tears are already flowing. Al Roker is back,” Savannah said at the beginning of the broadcast. “To say we have missed you doesn’t even describe it. We are nothing without you here.”

Al them came out on set and gave Savannah and Hoda big hugs.

“The crew is weepy. The crowd outside, they’ve been bummed every day we’ve walked out there,” Hoda said. “They’re like, ‘Where is Al?’”

Al then joked about being back at work after spending time at home recovering after his two hospitalizations.

“I have missed you guys so much,” Al said. “You are like my second family, and it’s just great to be back and wearing pants. Fun, it’s so much fun.”

Later in the broadcast while reporting the weather, Al thanked all of the fans and Today viewers for the well wishes.

“Thank you so much for you at home, the thoughts and prayers for our family,” Al said. “It meant the world to us, believe me.”

Al was first hospitalized in November 2022 due to blood clots in his legs and lungs and missed broadcasting the 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On Thanksgiving, Al was released from the hospital, but had to be rushed back there after complications.

We’re glad to see Al is doing better and is back at work!
