Ellen DeGeneres Shares Video of Weather Emergency in Montecito, Reveals If She Has to Evacuate

Ellen DeGeneres shared an update in the middle of an ongoing weather emergency.

The 64-year-old star lives in Montecito, Calif., where residents have been forced to evacuate due to the risk of flooding after torrential rains swept the area.

Ellen shared a video on social media documenting the scary situation.

In a video on Instagram, Ellen filmed herself in front of a creek that was filled with racing, muddy waters.

She noted that the evacuation was occurring on the fifth anniversary of a similar natural disaster in Montecito when rains caused deadly mudslides.

“On the five-year anniversary we are having unprecedented rains. This creek next to our house never flows, ever,” she said. “We need to be nicer to Mother Nature because Mother Nature is not happy with us.”

She provided more information in the caption: “Montecito is under mandatory evacuation. We are on higher ground so they asked us to shelter in place. Please stay safe everyone.”

We hope that Ellen and everyone else in Montecito stays safe and will be thinking about them.

The disaster occurred after Ellen and her wife just bought a new property elsewhere in California.
