Trevor Noah Jokes About Chinese Spy Balloon, 'Sex Symbol' Harry Styles, & Quitting 'The Daily Show' in Grammys 2023 Monologue

Trevor Noah is kicking off the 2023 Grammys!

The 38-year-old comedian and political commentator cracked jokes about Harry Styles, the Chinese spy balloon, and blamed Beyonce for giving him the idea to quit The Daily Show in his opening monologue at the awards show on Sunday (February 5) at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

“My job is to be your eyes, your ears, I’ll be floating around this room,” Trevor started. “Think of me like a Chinese spy balloon, that’s what I’m doing right now, gathering all the information that you want. This is the room where it all goes down.

While walking through the audience, Trevor stopped by Harry‘s table and said, “Women throw their panties at this man when he puts them on and he looks better in them than they do. Easily the World’s Sexiest Man. Are you kidding? There’s no competition sex symbol of the globe, especially now that they killed off the green M&M.”

Trevor also brought up Beyonce’s song “Break My Soul,” in which she sings “Now, I just fell in love / And I just quit my job / I’m gonna find new drive / Damn, they work me so damn hard.”

“Beyoncé is nominated for her album, Renaissance, which by the way, is better than anything from the actual renaissance, in my opinion,” Trevor said. “The renaissance was just pictures of grapes and stuff. Beyoncé took it up another level. In fact, I was so inspired by the lyrics of ‘Break My Soul,’ that I actually quit my job. That’s how powerful that was. I just wish Beyoncé had also written a song about the importance of having savings before you quit your job.”
