Eminem Files Legal Opposition Against 2 'Real Housewives' Stars Because of a Podcast

Eminem is getting litigious.

The 50-year-old rapper filed an opposition against two stars of the Real Housewives of Potomac, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon, after they filed to trademark the name of their podcast, Reasonably Shady.

According to legal documents obtained by People, Eminem believes his brand will be damaged if the podcast acquires the trademark because it could cause “confusion” with Eminem’s own brand, due to his Slim Shady nickname.

He claims that he’s used “Shady” and “Slim Shady” since 1996, and owns the trademark for both to use on merch and his records.

“The marks Slim Shady and Shady have become and are an extremely valuable symbol of Mathers, his reputation and goodwill,” the documents read.

The Housewives stars filed to trademark their podcast’s name with the intent of selling products a year ago, according to the Patent and Trademark Office.

Eminem also made headlines recently with his voice – which was seemingly used without his permission.
