'Riverdale' Star Casey Cott's Wife Nichola Basara is Pregnant With Their First Child, Couple Reveals Baby's Sex

Casey Cott and Nichola Basara‘s family is expanding.

The 31-year-old Riverdale star and his wife announced that they were expecting their first child together.

They shared the happy news, teased the baby’s sex and possible name while revealing how they found out that a baby was on the way.

Casey took to Instagram to share the news on Friday (April 7).

“Mrs. Cott’s got a baby in her belly,” he wrote alongside a photo of them holding up a positive pregnancy test. “Thank you @clearblue for confirming in words that we are PREGNANT! There is nothing better than seeing that word pop up on the screen after taking a test!”

Speaking with People, the couple revealed that they are expecting a baby boy. Nichola is due in September.

“We thought there was a chance I was pregnant but, you never really know until you know for sure,” she recalled to the outlet, explaining how she learned the happy news. “I woke up before Casey on a Saturday morning and snuck into the bathroom to take a Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test…it VERY quickly said ‘pregnant,’ and I was so excited.”

She continued, joking that, “Only problem was that Casey was still fast asleep! I waited for him to wake up for two full hours.”

“Finally, when he woke up, I immediately showed him the front of the test. He was half asleep, but proceeded to jump out of bed and run around our bedroom celebrating,” she remembered. “It was a life-changing moment, and one we will never forget, thanks to Clearblue.”

The couple is already teasing the baby’s name: “We have one picked, but we’d like to wait to share — you never know if when we see the little guy, we’ll have a change of heart.”
