Keri Russell 'Couldn't Stop Thinking' About New Series 'The Diplomat' Even Though She Wasn't Looking For A New Job

Keri Russell steps out in a low cut, daring dress for the premiere of her new Netflix series, The Diplomat, in New York City on Tuesday (April 18).

The 47-year-old actress was joined by her partner, actor Matthew Rhys, and co-stars Rufus Sewell, Ato Essandoh, Nana Mensah, David Gyasi, and Ali Ahn for the event.

Showrunner Debora Cahn and producer Janice Williams, as well as Ali‘s longtime love, William Jackson Harper, were also spotted inside.

“I had such an amazing experience with The Americans, I have a very busy life at home. We still have three little kids in school, so I wasn’t shopping around for one,” Keri says of how the series came to her.

She told ET Canada that once the script came though, she couldn’t stop thinking about it.

“When this came my way, I just kind of couldn’t stop thinking about it. You know, I kept walking away and doing something else… then I thought, ‘Oh, it’s so fun.’ I just keep thinking about the messiness of that girl and that weird relationship and how push and pull it is, and Debora’s humor… I had to say yes.”

Following the NYC premiere, Keri and Debora headed to Washington D.C. for a panel and special screening on Wednesday (April 19).

Just days before, Keri and Matthew were seen at an anniversary event for The Americans.
