Rita Ora Reacts To Critics Of Her Bold Style: 'It's Extremely Misogynistic'

Rita Ora is known for pushing the borderlines of fashion with sheer looks, high slits and even more, which some fans aren’t that thrilled about.

In her new cover story with Glamour UK, the 32-year-old singer reacted to the critics of her style, and why she’s ignoring all the naysayers about it.

“Anyone that draws outside the lines is going to get that,” she shared about the backlash to some of the looks that she does wear to events with husband, Taika Waititi, and while she’s out solo.

Rita also shared that she sought out advice from Jennifer Lopez about having attention on her private life rather than her work.

“She just kept going, ignoring the noise. How do I think women are treated differently? Have you got all day? I’ve had it my whole career: having people judge what I wear, saying, ‘Is she too naked?’ Or, ‘Can she say things like that?’ I find it extremely misogynistic.”

She also said that she looked to Madonna for how to handle herself when she’s met with the hate.

“She knew not everyone was going to agree with her, and she just did it anyway,” Rita remarked. “I’m thanking her for that, because that’s given me the ability to be more outrageous, a bit more outlandish with things: how I dress, things I might say. I’m not perfect, but I think that’s what keeps my fans entertained the most.”
