Kaley shared that she landed on the ground directly under the horse, which tried to jump over her but crushed her leg.

“I remember clear as day, because it takes a second when something is that bad. I was like, ‘Did I just fall on a whole thing of leaves?’ Because I heard all the cracking,” she explained. “It took me like 5 or 10 seconds to actually realize it wasn’t just 400 leaves; it was my bones.”

Kaley experienced a compound fracture to her tibia and fibula, which caused a “horrible, horrible, horrible break” that forced her bones through her skin.

The injury was so severe that doctors had Kaley sign a release that would allow them to amputate her leg if necessary. Fortunately, Kaley healed and was back on her feet in two weeks.

“I’ve got some good scars,” she said. “It makes you feel like a badass.”

In a recent interview, Kaley revealed whether she and her boyfriend Tom Pelphrey plan on having more kids. Find out what she said here.
