Katie Cassidy & Stephen Huszar Talk Finding Love Off Screen & The One Romantic Moment That Almost Turned Dangerous For Hallmark Channel's 'A Royal Christmas Crush'
ON HOW COLD IT WAS WHILE FILMING:
Katie is the first to admit that she was not prepared for just how cold it was.
“I had no idea what it was gonna be like, I just knew it was gonna be real cold (laughts). I packed really, really heavy warm stuff, and I was happy to hear that I was going to be able to wear really, really warm things,” she says. “It was really cold.”
The biggest challenge however, wasn’t just staying warm, but how fast they could run.
“I would run from the Ice Hotel into the real hotel which is about a seven minute walk, and that’s way too much time in between filming at that temperature,” she explains. “I would sprint from the Ice Hotel, to the regular hotel and then back and just get like a couple of seconds inside, just warmth and then go back out and it would be okay for like 15, 20 minutes. It ended up working well.”
Katie says that “we certainly didn’t have to act cold” at all.
Stephen then added that he was used to the cold, being a Canadian and growing up with negative temperatures.
“I just layered up. I was okay. But, kudos to the crew and wardrobe. They had us in these interesting and intricate electrical coats, where you could press buttons of how hot you wanted it, and lots of hot shots. You could warm yourself up.”
