Spotify Is Raising Its Subscription Prices - New Pricing Revealed

Spotify is upping its subscription pricing.

The music streaming platform confirmed on Monday (July 24) that it is increasing its pricing in the United States.

A subscription to Spotify Premium will now cost $10.99 a month, up from $9.99 since its launch in 2011.

“So that we can keep innovating, we are changing our Premium prices across a number of markets around the world. These updates will help us continue to deliver value to fans and artists on our platform,” the company declared.

The cost of Duo will increase from $12.99 to $14.99, Family will increase from $15.99 to $16.99, and Student will increase from $4.99 to $5.99. Existing subscribers will get a one month grace period before the new pricing kicks in.

The pricing will change internationally as well, including the UK, where an individual plan will now cost £10.99 (up from £9.99), Duo will cost £14.99 (up from £13.99), Family will cost £17.99 (up from £16.99), and the price of a student plan will stay the same at £5.99.

One entertainer just made history as the first to surpass 80 billion streams on Spotify.
