Donald Trump has been indicted yet again.

CNN reports that he is charged with “conspiracy to defraud the United States,” “conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding,” “obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding,” and “conspiracy against rights.”

Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith said, “The attack on our nation’s Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was an unprecedented assault on the seat of American democracy. It was fueled by lies, lies by the defendant targeted at obstructing a bedrock function of the U.S. government: the nation’s process of collecting counting and certifying the results of the presidential election.”

Trump was the only one charged in the indictment, but six co-conspirators were named. He will appear in federal court on Thursday afternoon.

The previous indictments have to do with mishandling classified documents and his role in hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.
