Hasan Minhaj Rumored To Be Frontrunner As 'The Daily Show' Host

The Daily Show is close to hiring Hasan Minhaj as its new host, according to new reports.

Variety revealed that the 37-year-old actor is being seriously considered for the hosting gig, following Trevor Noah‘s exit in 2022.

The outlet says that Hasan has emerged as the front runner amid the search for a new permanent host, according to three sources.

They also state that he is “not guaranteed to win the position” and “and a deal is not believed to have been finalized.”

Hasan is the latest name to be floated as a possible permanent host. John Mulaney was considered as host before Trevor.

Since Trevor left, The Daily Show has had a string of interim week-long hosts, including Leslie Jones, Chelsea Handler, Kal Penn, Al Franken and Sarah Silverman.
