Jessica Chastain Says Her Friendship With Oscar Isaac Isn't The Same After 'Scenes From A Marriage'

Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac have been friends for over 20 years, and have starred together in multiple projects.

However, the 46-year-old actress just revealed that since starring in HBO’s Scenes From A Marriage, it hasn’t been the same.

Speaking with Vanity Fair prior to the strike, Jessica opened up about the status of her friendship with Oscar now.

“I mean, Scenes From a Marriage was very tough,” she admitted. “And I love Oscar [Isaac], but the reality is, our friendship has never quite been the same.”

Jessica explained that they’re “going to be okay, but after that, I was like, I need a little bit of a breather. There was so much I love you, I hate you in that series.”

Adding on to that, Jessica also opened up about how deep she gets into her roles and there are tolls that it takes on her. However, she still has a lot of pride in her parts she plays.

“But there’s so much joy in what I get to do,” she shared. “There’s a lot of catharsis. I feel like I have the best job in the world because I get to have these experiences. They’re so out of this world and feel like they’re mine. But then I live a very quiet life. I don’t have to have these tortured things in my life. I play them and I experience them, and then I come home and I live quietly and peacefully.”

This isn’t the first time Jessica has opened up about how much risk was involved in the mini-series.

Jessica and Oscar made headlines a few years ago while promoting Scenes From A Marriage at the Venice Film Festival.
