Sarah Ferguson Reveals the Last Thing Queen Elizabeth Said to Her

Sarah Ferguson is recalling her final conversation with Queen Elizabeth.

The 63-year-old Duchess of York was married to the late monarch’s son Prince Andrew from 1986 to 1996 and the two share daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

Despite the divorce, Sarah has remained very close to the family and she now lives with Prince Andrew, 63, at Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate.

In a new episode of her Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah podcast, Sarah revealed the last thing Queen Elizabeth said to her before her death.

“It’s the last thing that the Queen said to me: ‘Just be yourself, Sarah,’” Sarah recalled.

“And she saw it. She just got so annoyed when I wasn’t being myself,” Sarah continued. “And that’s probably when I got into all the pickles. But now I am myself, and I’m just so lucky to be able to be myself.”

Queen Elizabeth died on September 8, 2022 at the age 96.

Following her passing, Sarah and Prince Andrew were given custody of the Queen‘s beloved corgis.

Earlier this summer, Sarah revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
