'Scream' Creator Backs Neve Campbell Leaving Franchise Over Salary Dispute: 'Give Her The Money'

The creator of the Scream franchise is backing Neve Campbell.

Months after it was revealed that the 49-year-old actress, who played Sydney Prescott in many of the movies, would not return over a salary dispute, Kevin Williamson, is standing by her side and urging the studio to pay her what she deserves.

Speaking to the Happy Horror Time podcast, Kevin said that he knows “exactly where she’s coming from.”

“I know her well. I love and adore her, and that’s what she did and it’s great for her. I love everyone involved with Scream and all I can say is pay her the money. Yes, you heard it, everyone. That’s what I would do. I would give her the money,” he added.

Kevin then shared that he was “sure there’s a number they can agree on that will make them both happy so hopefully one day they will figure that all out, and who knows. One day.”

Neve had headlined every Scream movie up until the most recent, Scream 6.
