Nelly Confirms He & Ashanti Are Back Together After First Splitting Over 10 Years Ago

It’s official – Nelly and Ashanti are back together!

Nelly confirmed the rumors that have been swirling for months about the former couple, revealing that they have been back together for longer than fans probably thought.

During a new interview with Love and Hip Hop‘s Rasheeda and Kirk Frost, via The Shade Room, the rapper opened up about what brought them back together.

“Yeah, we cool again,” Nelly shared when asked. “I think it surprised both of us though. It wasn’t anything that I don’t think was planned.”

He also spoke about how since their split in 2013, time has been on both of their sides in letting them have a better relationship this time around.

“I think we both were pretty much doing what we do, but sometimes being separate you understand one another more,” he shared. “You be like, ‘Yo, let me see exactly what they see.’ You know, because we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. We know we wrong but we going to stand on it. But we all a victim to that.”

Now, he adds, the relationship with Ashanti “feels good” and “it’s no pressure. Before I felt like both of us were doing what we were doing before career-wise, and when you got so many people in the middle of it, it can be tough.”

Rumors that Nelly and Ashanti were back together again first started in April 2023 after they were spotted at a boxing match.

Most recently, the were seen singing along to a steamy song together.
