Who Is Derek Hough's Wife? Meet Fellow Pro Dancer Hayley Erbert!

Derek Hough is a newly married man and we bet his recent wedding will be brought up on Dancing With the Stars when he returns to the judging panel!

The 38-year-old dancer tied the knot with longtime love Hayley Erbert last month during a romantic wedding in northern California and the couple took a honeymoon in Italy.

Derek and Hayley met in 2014 when she was hired as a dancer for his tour with sister Julianne Hough. She later joined the cast of DWTS as a troupe member in September 2015, though she never became an official pro on the show.

While they started dating in 2015, Derek and Hayley didn’t make things official on Instagram until mid-2017.

Derek credits the pandemic and quarantining together as something that made him and Hayley grow closer. He said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2020, “We came together, we got closer. We grew as a couple tremendously. We even started a YouTube channel together, cooking.”

The couple got engaged in June 2022 and then got married in front of 106 guests in August 2023.

“It’s so interesting what a small sort of piece of metal can do to your whole persona and your whole outlook on everything, where all of a sudden it’s sort of like, oh, I have this promise that I carry with me all the time,” Derek told People. “And to want to be a man to live up to that promise daily for that person and for yourself and for others, it’s a powerful thing. It’s a beautiful thing. So for me, I’m excited to continue to aspire to be that man each and every day for her, for our animals and for our future family.”

Hayley, who has served as a troupe member on DWTS for six seasons, will be on tour with Derek this year in between shows for DWTS. When she was a teen, she also competed on So You Think You Can Dance and made it to the top three females!
