Nell Hudson was one of the first actresses considered for the role, an Irish paper reported.

While she didn’t get to play Claire, she did get another part – Laoghaire MacKenzie.

Laoghaire and Jamie do marry, following Claire’s first disappearance back through the stones. When she returns, their marriage was declared void, as they never had any children together.
