Zendaya Talks Imposter Syndrome on the Set of 'Dune: Part Two,' Her Favorite Red Carpet Moments, Music Plans & More

On working with the star-studded Dune: Part Two cast…

“It’s such a special experience, I think, being able to shoot in the places that we got to shoot and be with the incredible actors that we got to be with. So every day, I just felt so lucky. I’m just very nervous I think, too. Because all these heavy hitters, and you want to be good. No matter what, you always kind of have imposter syndrome a little bit.”

She continued, saying, “You always feel like you’re just… like am I even good enough to be here? So trying to also just enjoy it, too.”

On previous roles she auditioned for but didn’t book…

“When I was younger, there was quite a few Disney pilots that I auditioned for before Shake It Up,” Zendaya revealed when asked about auditions that she did not land. “But they all ended up either changing their name and becoming a different show or they didn’t make them.”

She added, “I think all the kids that are my age from that time, like we all auditioned for them. Which is actually lovely. Many of them got their own shows and everything.”

The actress added that she doesn’t focus on the roles that she doesn’t get.

“I feel like if you don’t get the role that you really wanted, there’s always a reason. And whoever it was meant for is who it is meant for. I honestly try not to remember the ones that never happened. Because they weren’t for me, they were for someone else,” she explained.
