There was a lot of controversy surrounding The New World when it was released back in 2005. The movie, which was shot in late 2004, starred Colin as American colonist John Smith and Q’Orianka as Pocahontas. She was just 14 at the time and the movie featured a love scene between the two actors.
In January 2005, a source had told British mag The People, “Farrell was told to get romantic and sensual but knew there was a certain amount of kissing involved. He played the scene brilliantly and he really put Q’Orianka at her ease. But when the lawyers saw the finished product with Colin and Q’Orianka rolling around on the ground kissing they just flipped out.”
A tamer version of the scene was reportedly re-shot, according to Today.
