Dakota Johnson is a star on the carpet at the 2016 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The 26-year-old actress took a break from filming Fifty Shades Darker to attend the star-studded gala.

Earlier in the day, Dakota was seen walking arm-in-arm with her beau Matthew Hitt.

This year’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit – celebrating the opening of the Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology exhibition – is co-chaired by Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, and Apple exec Jonathan Ive.

Amandla Stenberg rocks a bold colored suit at the 2016 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The 18-year-old activist wore a custom Calvin Klein Collection merlot satin evening jacket, bandeau and trousers.

Scream Queens star Emma Roberts also turned heads at the event, wearing a Tory Burch halter-top ombré chiffon plissé gown in shades of amethyst and lavender, embellished with heat-sealed Swarovski crystal-rock fabric gown, Edie Parker clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, and Norman Silverman Diamonds.

Mindy Kaling is all smiles while making her way down the carpet at the 2016 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday (May 2) in New York City.

The 36-year-old Mindy Project star and creator looked amazing in a Tory Burch dress and Jimmy Choo shoes.

Master of None‘s Aziz Ansari was also in attendance that evening, looking handsome in a purple bow tie.

The 23-year-old model changed up her looks between arriving at the event and walking the carpet.

Karlie headed to the event in a custom crepe Brandon Maxwell coat, then rocked a custom gown by the designer along with Giuseppe Zanotti strappy shoes and a Repossi staple earring in pink gold fully set with diamonds. She’s also wearing KWIAT stud earrings.
