Wilson had the Cleveland Guardians’ logo featured.

However, as Tom wound up to throw the pitch, Wilson rolled down the mound. When he tried again, it happened for a second time, and the ball continued to roll around.

Eventually, he ignored the volleyball and threw the first pitch to Larry Doby Jr. as the crowd cheered.

MLB Reveals New Minimium Salary for Players, with Increases Across the Next Four Years

A collective bargaining agreement between the MLB and the MLB Players Association has been reached, allowing the regular season for 2022 to begin on schedule.

The three-month lockout has now ended and Major League Baseball has confirmed the new minimum salary for players for 2022 and the next four years.

“I am genuinely thrilled to be able to say that Major League Baseball is back and we’re going to play 162 games,” Commissioner Rob Manfred said. “I do want to start by apologizing to our fans. I know that the last few months have been difficult. There’s a lot of uncertainty, at a point in time when there’s a lot of uncertainty in the world. [It’s] sort of the way the process of collective bargaining works sometimes, but I do apologize for it.”

He added, “One of the good things about collective bargaining is that it gives our players an opportunity to have input on what their workplace and the game is going to look like going forward. And they took full opportunity to provide that input during these negotiations. Our players are great, great athletes. I respect them. And I respect the input that we received from them during this process. And we really did learn a lot.”

MLB All-Star Game 2021 Moving Away From Atlanta Due to New Georgia Voting Law

Major League Baseball is making a huge move.

The organization announced the 2021 All-Star Game is moving outside of Atlanta in response to a new Georgia voting law that is generating controversy, as critics say it limits access to voting, especially for people of color, ESPN reported Friday (April 2).

“Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views. I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft,” MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement.

President Joe Biden told ESPN previously that he would “strongly support” pulling the game out of Atlanta because of the law.

The commissioner said he “fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box.”

No new site for the All-Star Game or draft were announced as of yet.
