Covert Affairs has sadly been canceled by the USA Network after five seasons on the air.

The spy drama starred Piper Perabo, Christopher Gorham, and Peter Gallagher. Despite a strong fan base, the diminishing ratings for the series were the deciding factor for the cancellation, according to THR.

Covert Affairs received 5 million viewers in its prime while the recent fifth season only averaged 1.5 million viewers.

“We want the show to continue. We’re very proud of this finale. So at least we feel if we didn’t come back, we’d be going out on a high note,” executive producer Chris Ord told TV Line last month after the explosive finale that ended with some cliffhangers.

In “Trompe Le Monde,” Calder (Hill Harper) wonders if Joan (Kari Matchett) is the only person he can trust when he returns to the United States with good news. Elsewhere, Annie and Auggie (Christopher Gorham) continue their work to bring Henry to justice.

“I don’t know if you should see it as a sign of anything,” Chris told JJ about Auggie staying in Hong Kong to help Annie. “I think it is what it is. Auggie cares deeply for her and she cares about the mission and he means what he says when, ‘I am here for you. I have got your back always. And I’m not leaving without you.’ He’s not going anywhere unless they both walk out of there.”

Piper told us, “Both Arthur and Joan are still very connected because of the positions that they’ve held in the CIA. As long as you can get them to a phone they can help.”

“Calder’s going to do everything that he can on his end to help Annie and Auggie succeed,” Chris added. “It’s just what makes things tricky is he’s not sure what he’s flying into because of what’s been going on back at Langley.”

The Covert Affairs season finale airs TOMORROW night @ at 10/9c on USA!

Joan (Kari Matchett) confronts Auggie (Christopher Gorham) about teaming up with Annie’s (Piper Perabo) presumed killer in this new exclusive clip from this week’s Covert Affairs!

In “Something Against You,” despite his misgivings, Auggie decides to work with Calder (Hill Harper) on an alternate method to destroy Henry (guest star Gregory Itzin), which confuses Joan, who is still under the impression that Calder killed Annie.

“We have both lost so much,” she tells him. “It is just you and me. We’re all that’s left.”

Auggie (Christopher Gorham) enlists his pals for help with an off-books assignment in an exclusive clip from this week’s episode of Covert Affairs!
