Nicole Kidman has just signed on to star in the upcoming new film Strangerland, according to Variety!

The 45-year-old actor will star alongside some fellow Aussie actors Hugo Weaving and Guy Pearce in leading roles as well!

The film is a mystery drama about a couple whose teenage children go missing in the Outback. No word yet who is playing which parts.

Screen Australia, who is helping to back the project, has said the new movie has “strong creative potential and massive A-list festival potential.”

The 44-year-old actress and her hubby, who are the co-artistic directors of the successful theater, were joined at the event by their upcoming Macbeth star Hugo Weaving.

“Every year I talked to Hugo about what he’s up for doing, what interests him and that kind of led to Macbeth,” Andrew told ABC News. “I think it will be a beautiful thing to see him playing that role, and it’s a great time in his career to be grappling with that role.”

Cate Blanchett attends the opening night performance of a new production of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead at the Sydney Theatre Company on Saturday (August 10) in Sydney, Australia.

The 44-year-old Blue Jasmine actress was joined at the event by her husband Andrew Upton, who along with Cate is very involved with the theatre company, and Hugo Weaving.

Mia Wasikowska poses for pictures as she arrives at the world premiere of her film The Turning held at Greater Union Cinemas on Saturday (August 3) in Melbourne, Australia.

The 23-year-old actress directed one of the shorts in the series of films, which featured some star-studded participants including Cate Blanchett and Rose Byrne.

Evangeline Lilly and Cate Blanchett hit the red carpet of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey world premiere held at the Embassy Theatre on Wednesday (November 28) in Wellington, New Zealand.

The two co-stars were joined by cast mates Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, Hugo Weaving, and director Peter Jackson.

On the red carpet, Cate rocked an Antonio Berardi gown and Roger Vivier shoes, while Evangeline debuted a brand new hairdo!

Halle Berry attends the Moscow premiere of her film Cloud Atlas on Thursday (November 1) at the Oktyabr Cinema Hall in Russia.

The 46-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Hugo Weaving and Doona Bae, as well as directors Lana Wachowski, Andy Wachowski, and Tom Tykwer.

Halle made an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show this week and said that her daughter Nahla prays every night for a baby sister.

“We pray to God, so sweet,” Halle said. “She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we’ve got to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taken so long?”
