Survivor's Jeff Probst Reveals Shocking New Rule for 'Game Changers'!

Jeff Probst just revealed a huge new rule for season 34 of Survivor: Game Changers.

“The biggest change we’re doing this season is if there’s a tie at Tribal Council, there will not be a revote,” Jeff told Parade. “There will not be a chance for people to change their votes. You go directly to the tiebreaker, which is openly discussing among yourselves who you want to get rid of. If you can come to a unanimous decision, then that person goes home. If you can’t get a unanimous decision, everybody draws rocks.”

'Survivor' Host Jeff Probst Sizes Up the 'Game Changers' Cast

What do you think of the Survivor: Game Changers cast?

While some casting choices have fans a little baffled, host Jeff Probst is defending the decision to bring certain people back for the all-star season.

“This is about people who might have made a big bold move like Tony [Vlachos] that says ‘Hey, everybody it was me,’ people who make really subtle moves like a [Jeff] Varner or maybe a Sandra [Diaz-Twine], people who made moves that worked, or people who made moves that were a disaster,” Jeff told EW. But it’s like Ciera Eastin said: ‘You’ve got to make moves in this game.’ And part of this is becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy now. They are making moves and I think you’re going to see moves made in this game.”

Speaking about perhaps the biggest head-scratcher, season 30′s Hali Ford, Jeff said, “Hali, to me, is the dark horse to win. I think Hali has everything you need to win this game. I think she’s a great student of the game, really good with her words. Hali was labeled a No Collar and in some ways lived up to it. She didn’t pull the trigger in ways that I think she wishes she could, but she is absolutely a game changer and somebody that I think if she can get out of the gate and get past Sandra, and Cirie [Fields], and Varner – maybe some of the older school players – I think she will shock people with how she plays.”

Survivor: Game Changers premieres on Wednesday, March 8 on CBS.

'Survivor: Game Changers' Will Feature New Immunity Idol Twist

There will be another evolution of the hidden immunity idol for the upcoming 34th season of Survivor: Game Changers.

Host Jeff Probst reveals that the idols will be hidden in various ways, so they aren’t so easy to find.

“Given that it is Game Changers, we’re going to change the game constantly. So when it comes to idols, there will be no consistency,” Jeff told EW. “Usually there’s a theme. You have to find them in a certain way or work a certain amount of effort to get it. Not this time. One might drop in your lap, one might be at Tribal, one might be at the bottom of the well, one might be at a challenge.”

He continued, “It depends how often idols get played for how far down the list we’ll get. Because if idols are held until the end, then we won’t see anything and we’ll use them next year. But if things go well and people start playing their idols – which I think will happen – it could be a really fun and crazy adventure to watch them and what they have to do to get them.”

'Survivor' Host Jeff Probst Explains 'Game Changers' Concept

Jeff Probst is opening up about the upcoming 34th season of Survivor, titled “Game Changers.”

The longtime host explains how the concept came about, and why these 20 returning players were chosen for the cast.

“Like many Survivor ideas, it’s been one that’s been circulating for a while, but we wanted to wait until we really did feel like we had a diverse enough group of Game Changers,” Jeff told Parade‘s Josh Wigler. “Not just guys who were strong in challenges or women who are very strategic. We wanted an array. We wanted to be able to go into our past and also our present. We felt like the last few seasons, we’ve had such good gameplay that there are a lot of current players who felt right for it.”

He added, “My idea of Game Changers is anytime you are actively making a decision, you’re making a move. There are a lot of people who don’t make decisions. They purposely put themselves in a spot where you take them by the hand. Those are the people I would never ask back. You don’t contribute to the game evolving. But not making a move because you’ve decided it’s not the right time to make a move? That’s a move, 100%! Do I go all in or do I let him win this hand? I’m going to let him win this hand. That’s a move!”

Survivor: Game Changers premieres on Wednesday, March 8 @ 8PM ET on CBS.

'Survivor' Cast Evacuated From Fiji Due to Dangerous Cyclone

The upcoming season of Survivor is already shaping up to be a dramatic one!

According to EW‘s Dalton Ross, the contestants on Season 33 Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X had to be “temporarily pulled from the game due to a cyclone in Fiji, where production was filming.”

Tropical Cyclone Zena hit the beaches on the second day of the game, April 6.

“For 32 seasons of Survivor, we’ve been very lucky to have escaped some severe storms,” host Jeff Probst told the mag. “This time, the storm caught us. It was only day two and in a matter of hours, a nice afternoon turned into a severe rainstorm that kept growing in intensity by the hour. We were monitoring the weather minute by minute back at base camp. When the national Fijian weather service upgraded it to a cyclone, we had to evacuate both tribes from their beaches and get them to safety. We have never had to evacuate tribes in 32 seasons of Survivor.”

Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 21 on CBS.

'Survivor' Season 33 Theme Revealed: 'Millennials vs Gen X'

The 33rd season of Survivor will officially be named Millennials vs Gen X!

Host Jeff Probst revealed the theme during the season 32 finale.

“It will hook you quickly because you will identify with one group or the other. The differences between the two groups are quickly apparent and the Millennials often left me challenging my own way of looking at the world,” he told EW‘s Dalton Ross. “There is so much appealing energy from the Millennials and yet often that energy leads to quick decisions that aren’t always well thought out. With Gen X, you see a tendency to overthink and get stuck in one way of thinking, which can prevent mistakes but can also hold you back from seizing opportunities. I feel really confident the audience is going to enjoy the season very much.”
