The stars are stepping out for The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Opening Gala

Eva Longoria and Issa Rae looked stunning while walking the red carpet at the event held on Saturday evening (September 25) at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

Other stars in attendance included Jenna Dewan, Jamie Lee Curtis, Orange is the New Black actresses Laverne Cox and Natasha Lyonne, The Other Two actress Molly Shannon, Selma Blair, and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn.

The event – which is being co-chaired by Ava DuVernay, Ryan Murphy, and Jason Blum – will be honoring Sophia Loren and filmmaker Haile Gerima. Tom Hanks, Annette Bening, and Bob Iger are also being recognized for their fundraising efforts for the museum.

The new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, which is located on the LACMA campus, will officially be open to the public starting on September 30.

Jenna Dewan stands between two large bins of backpacks ahead of Baby2Baby & Paul Mitchell‘s mural unveiling and backpack distribution held at a Los Angeles elementary school on Friday (August 27) in Los Angeles.

The 40-year-old actress was on hand to pass out backpacks filled with school supplies and essentials, along with Paul Mitchell shampoo, conditioner, hand sanitizer, and much more to help alleviate the unprecedented hardships that families living in poverty face.

The event also unveiled the mural on the campus of Sheridan Elementary, which was a gift to the children in the Boyle Heights community and visible to students as they enter the school.

The mural depicts artwork from artist and poet Morgan Harper Nichols, whose work centers around messages of love, self-reflection, affirmation, and acceptance and is beloved by audiences worldwide.

Jenna Dewan and Steve Kazee are mourning the loss of their beloved dog Violet.

The couple took to Instagram on Friday (July 16) to pay tribute to their late dog, who Steve adopted back in 2012.

“Our hearts are broken today as we mourn the sudden loss of our Violet Mae,” Jenna wrote on her Instagram page. “Violet was the sweetest lady i ever knew, the best sneaky kisser in the world and the calm amongst the chaos always. Everyone who met you loved you and it is one the greatest privileges of my life to have had the last few years with you. The bond you and Steve shared comes around once in a lifetime and our entire family misses you beyond words. I am holding on to the owl we saw on our porch last night right after you passed being a sign of your wise beautiful soul flying high. I love you my sweet Vi Vi 🙏🏻.”
