The winner of American Idol was revealed this evening (May 16) during the season twelve finale at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The final two contestants were Candice Glover and Kree Harrison during a season that was dominated by the female contestants. It was the first time in the series’ history that the top five singers were all girls!

During the finale, there were guest appearances by such artists as Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, Emeli Sande, Jessie J, and more. Even judges Mariah Carey, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson took to the stage!

Candice Glover and Kree Harrison walk the red carpet at the American Idol Season 12 Finale on Thursday (May 16) at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

Kree Harrison takes to the stage for her performances during part one of the American Idol Finale on Wednesday (May 15) in Hollywood.

The first song of the night was chosen by producer Simon Fuller and he chose “Angels” for Kree. The second song was the singer’s potential single if they win the show and she was given the track “All Cried Out.”

For the final performance of the evening, each contestant was able to choose one of their favorite performances from the season and Kree chose “Up to the Mountain,” which she sang during Vegas week.

Angie Miller tearfully sings the song “Never Gone” after being voted off of American Idol during the results show on Thursday (May 9) in Los Angeles.

The 19-year-old Boston native was shockingly eliminated and didn’t move on to the finals after being considered the clear favorite throughout most of the competition.

“It’s bitter and sweet,” Angie told THR after the show. “I definitely thought that with the whole hometown visit and how huge social media has been … I did feel kind of confident that I was going to make it.”

The final two contestants on American Idol have been revealed and one more singer was sent home during the results show on Thursday (May 9).

During last night’s episode, the judges – Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban, and Randy Jackson – and consultant Jimmy Iovine said that each of the top three girls won one round each that night.

The top three contestants on American Idol – Angie Miller, Candice Glover, and Kree Harrison – sang their hearts out during the live performance show on Wednesday (May 8) and we have all the videos from the show for you to watch!

Kree kicked off the show and sang Pink‘s “F***in’ Perfect,” Rascal Flatts‘ “Here Comes Goodbye,” and The Band Perry‘s “Better Dig Two.”

Candice was second to sing during the evening and sang U2‘s “One,” Emeli Sande‘s “Next to Me,” and the song “Somewhere” from West Side Story.

Angie was third to go and sang Elton John‘s “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word,” Pink‘s “Try,” and Emeli Sande‘s “Maybe.”

After a week of safety for the top four girls on American Idol, it was time for one of them to go home and for the final three to be revealed during the results show on Thursday (May 3).

All of the girls – Angie Miller, Candice Glover, Amber Holcomb, and Kree Harrison – desperately want to get into the top three so they can experience the famed hometown visit next week.
