With just one week left until the final winner of American Idol is crowned, the top three contestants on season 15 have been revealed!

During the episode on Thursday (March 31), the final four all got the chance to perform a song and have their hometown visit videos aired before one of them was sent home.

Each of the contestants had to prepare three songs for the episode – a hometown choice, a judge’s choice, and a song picked by mentor Scott Borchetta.

There was a special guest performance during the episode this evening from judge Keith Urban, who performed his brand new single “Wasted Time.”

We are just two weeks away from the American Idol series finale and the top 4 contestants for the final season have been revealed!

During the episode on Thursday (March 24), one of the final five singers was sent home before he or she got the chance to sing the songs they prepared.

Each of the contestants that got the opportunity to perform sang two songs – a rock song and one from Sia‘s songbook.

There were several guest performances throughout the evening – season 7 winner David Cook returned to perform his new single “Heartbeat,” season 5 runner-up Katharine McPhee reprised her performance of “Over the Rainbow,” and Sia performed her new single “Cheap Thrills.”

Jennifer Lopez fights back her tears while giving a standing ovation for contestant La’Porsha Renae during the live American Idol episode on Thursday (March 17) in Los Angeles.

The 46-year-old entertainer was visibly moved by La’Porsha‘s rendition of the song “No More Drama,” originally sung by Mary J. Blige.

“It’s moments like this why I love Idol, and why I’m going to miss it so much,” Jennifer said during another teary-eyed moment after Trent Harmon‘s performance.

“It’s even having this front seat watching the perfect song and the perfect singer sing it at that time. And it made me think, ‘Damn, I’ve been so lucky the five years I got to be on this show and watch things like that,’” Jennifer added. “And you sang that song so beautifully and I felt every single word of it. Thank you for giving me one of those moments.”

FYI: Jennifer is wearing a Naeem Khan jumpsuit and Casadei shoes.

We are down to the top five contestants on American Idol and it’s only a matter of weeks until the final winner on the long-running competition series is crowned.

The judges – Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr., and Keith Urban – got the opportunity to save one more contestant on the Thursday (March 17) episode after the top six singers performed.

The theme for next week’s episode has been announced and you can look forward to the contestants singing songs from Sia‘s songbook. She will also be on hand as a mentor for the singers, in addition to Steven Van Zandt from the E Street Band.

The eliminations are getting harder and harder on American Idol and we are already down to the top six on the singing competition’s final season.

Two contestants were sent home during the episode on Thursday (March 10) after the judges were given the chance to save one of the singers in the bottom three.

There are only a matter of weeks left until the American Idol series finale during the first week of April. It is reportedly going to be a three-night event!

Two contestants have been sent home on American Idol‘s final season and the top 8 has been revealed!

The top ten contestants performed during last Thursday’s live show and two of them were sent home at the end of the show tonight (March 3).

One contestant will be sent home each week until the series finale in May and the judges – Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. – will not be getting to save a singer as they have in past seasons.

Kelly Clarkson is the first-ever winner of American Idol and she is revealing who she wants to win the final season of the singing competition series.

“Okay if La’Porsha Renae doesn’t win Idol there’s something seriously wrong w/America! I mean, goodness! I stood up n my house, that’s right!” the 33-year-old singer tweeted.

“OH MY GOSH!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Such an honor!! Wow…. #IdolTop24,” La’Porsha replied.

Kelly‘s tweet came right after La’Porsha rocked out on stage to “Proud Mary” during the Top 24 performance round. Watch it below!
