Eurovision's My Hometown Song, 'Husavik,' Is Incredible - Read Lyrics & Listen Now!

The new Netflix movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga features some amazing new songs, including the finale number “Husavik,” which is sung by Rachel McAdams‘ character.

This post contains some spoilers for the movie, so beware of reading any further!

Eurovision Song Contest follows aspiring Icelandic musicians Lars (Will Ferrell) and Sigrit (McAdams), who are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition.

The duo, known as Fire Saga, are the laughing stock of the competition due to the mishaps that happen throughout their performances, but they make it to the grand finale. Instead of performing the song they entered into the contest, the duo decides to disqualify themselves and sing “Husavik” instead. The song was written by Sigrit as her declaration of love to Lars and their hometown in Iceland.

Rachel doesn’t actually provide the vocals for her character and she lip syncs to the voice of another star. Learn more about the artist who sings Sigrit’s songs!

“Where the mountains sing through the screams of seagulls / Where the whales could live ’cause they’re gentle people / In my hometown, my hometown,” Sigrit sings in the ballad. Part of the song is also performed in Icelandic!

Netflix's 'Eurovision' Movie Soundtrack - Stream & Download Now!

The new Netflix movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is being released this weekend and the full soundtrack is available for streaming now!

Will Ferrell provides his own vocals for the movie, but his co-stars Rachel McAdams and Dan Stevens are dubbed by Swedish music stars. Learn about the singer who provided the voice for Rachel and the reason why Dan didn’t do his own singing in the movie.

Demi Lovato is featured on the soundtrack with the great song she gets to sing in the film.

Rachel McAdams' Singing Voice in 'Eurovision' Movie Revealed to Be This Swedish Star!

Rachel McAdams stars in the new Netflix movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga and her character’s singing voice is AMAZING in the film… but it’s not actually Rachel singing.

The Oscar-nominated actress plays an aspiring singer named Sigrit who dreams of performing in the Eurovision Song Contest, a singing competition that happens in Europe every year.

Rachel‘s singing voice is provided by Swedish singer Molly “My Marianne” Sanden, who actually competed in the Eurovision Song Contest as a junior star.

Molly competed in the Junior division back in 2006 and she came in third. She also competed in the Melodifestivalen event in 2009, 2012, and 2016.

“Volcano Man” was the first single to be released from the Eurovision Song Contest movie and the artists credited as providing vocals are Will Ferrell and My Marianne.

Rachel McAdams Talks Bringing Her Son to Set on Her First Movie Since Welcoming Him!

Rachel McAdams is opening up about being a working mom!

The 41-year-old actress opened up about her new movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, while adding that this was her first movie project since welcoming her son, who is now two-years-old.

I got a lot of time off beforehand so I was pretty ready to go back [to work] by the time I did,” Rachel shared with Entertainment Tonight.

For filming, Rachel had to travel to Iceland, and was lucky enough to bring her son along with her.

“He’ll never remember any of it, but I feel like somehow that might stick to his soul and his personality a little bit, so it was great to get to travel,” Rachel added. “We’ve been cuddled up for so long together that it was wonderful to go out into the world and get to work at the same time. I felt really lucky to be able to do that.”

Rachel and boyfriend Jamie Linden very quietly welcomed their son back in 2018. She recently revealed what quarantining with her son is like!

Here is the synopsis: When aspiring musicians Lars (Ferrell) and Sigrit (McAdams) are given the opportunity of a lifetime to represent their country at the world’s biggest song competition, they finally have a chance to prove that any dream worth having is a dream worth fighting for.

Also starring in the movie are Demi Lovato, Dan Stevens, and Pierce Brosnan. Demi recorded a new song called “In the Mirror” for the film, which will be featured on the full soundtrack, available on June 26.

The movie will be released on Netflix this summer.
