The second season of the steamy Showtime hit The Affair comes to an end tonight.

Executive Producer Sarah Treem took to social media to tease fans on what to expect.

“Ready for Sunday night at 10? Afterwards, I’ll be tweeting what we expected and what surprised us about your reaction to S2! #TheAffair,” she tweeted.

Sarah also wrote, “I have many favorite parts of our finale tomorrow but there is a pretty spectacular version of House of the Rising Sun. #getready #TheAffair”

The Affair airs TONIGHT, December 20 @ 10PM on Showtime.

Amazing renewal news…Showtime has just announced that The Affair and Homeland will both be renewed for new seasons!

Homeland will be going on for a sixth season, while The Affair will be in its third on the hit network.

The Affair stars Ruth Wilson, Dominic West, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson. Claire Danes leads the cast of Homeland.

Both new seasons are expected to air in 2016. Be sure to watch the finales of both shows on December 20!

The actors were joined at the event by their co-stars Dominic West, Maura Tierney, Josh Stamberg, and Julia Goldani Telles.

During the panel, an audience member asked the cast if they think that people are more aware if their spouses are cheating because of the show.

“If you’re so paranoid about your spouse that a TV show is what’s tipping you over the edge, it’s probably not the TV show,” Joshua responded (via Deadline).

Showtime announced that the highly-anticipated fifth season of Homeland will debut on Sunday, October 4th @ 9PM ET/PT, with The Affair‘s second season premiering right after that @ 10PM.

Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the “war on terror,” Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.

Season two of The Affair explores the emotional and psychological effects of an affair that destroyed two marriages, and the crime that brings these individuals back together.

This season, the provocative drama will be told separately from four different perspectives, revealing four distinct truths.

Here is the second season’s official synopsis: Ruth Wilson plays Alison, a young woman attempting to move on from tragedy and build a lasting relationship while contending with the judgment of others and her own self-doubt. Her lover Noah (Dominic West) is a burgeoning writer trying to balance the temptations of success, the family he left behind, and the woman he loves. Noah’s former wife Helen (Maura Tierney) is attempting to piece her life together while navigating divorce proceedings, care for her children, and her parents’ noxious influence. Joshua Jackson plays Cole, Alison’s former husband struggling to overcome past heartbreak and start a promising new life. Yet the long-term ramifications of the affair continue to shape these lives, and will lead to an event that changes everything once again.

Season two of The Affair does not yet have a premiere date, but it will air this fall on Showtime.

The Affair just picked up the award for Best Television Series – Drama at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (January 11) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The show recently wrapped up its first season on Showtime and it stars Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, Joshua Jackson, and Maura Tierney.

It beat out Dowtown Abbey, The Good Wife, House of Cards, and Game of Thrones for the big win!

The Affair follows the psychological effects of an affair between a married waitress (Wilson) at a Hamptons diner and a teacher (West) who spends his summer at his in-laws’ estate on the island.
