I don’t believe that Melissa McCarthy was nominated for a lot of awards, I think she is the most unfunny thing on the film

  • EU

what a shame academy, snubbed Leo one more time. Congratulations for your game night.

  • kiki

clooney and pitt play themselves they just got nominated so the oscars could get ratings. can’t believe joseph gordon levitt and leo dicaprio were neglected.

  • lolita

yay, In darkness is nominated. I keep my fingers crossed, it’s an amazing movie, deserves for Oscar.

  • Jen

YAY for Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo! They won’t win, but it’s still nice that Bridesmaids been recognized by The Academy!

  • http://Laia Mirella

DiCaprio should have at least 3 oscars already, his very first for Gilbert Grape! Such an amazing actor who can play practically everyone, speaks with different accents all the time and he always gets neglected, not even nominated this time…..
    I can’t believe it!

  • Grey

Can’t believe Fassbender didn’t get nomination. Again talented actors were snubbed.

On the other hand, congrats to Gary Oldman for his first Oscar nomination! (finally the man got recognition)

  • wat

This is not fair honestly what does Leo have to do to get an oscar, but congrates to Gary Oldman and Jessica love them

  • Louise

I’m guessing this years going to be a total shmoozefest like every year. Lets have a fixed smile, clap at everything and look like we’re paying attention and making connections.
I don’t understand why Iron Lady is getting such a reception in awards based on the fact the film is sensationalized and her interpretation is a laughable characature of someone who practically destroyed GB in the 80′s.

The nominations this year are a laughing stock, built in how much pr and marketing can one do to get the films noticed and how much kissing ass you can do. Last year was pretty poor when it came to filmaking so they have to depend on some films that have just been released. Once again they choose to ignore films that have an actual impact on todays society and pop culture. The oscars are an absolute joke.

    @jolie snubbed

She wasn’t snubbed you idiot. Her film was not eligible for foreign category.

  • Kelly

No Michael Fassbender and Leo DiCaprio? Um seriously?
    They deserve it so much!!!

  • sarah

come on Michelle, you can do it this time xxx

  • Milla

IN DARKNESS!!!! WOW, it’s an amazing movie, more people should watch it!!!!

  • huh?

It’s all about who campaigned the hardest… i am just tired of the oscars Leonardo Dicaprio has given more to hollywood than Brad Pitt and George Cloney put together….But you know what Leo is beyond talented the world knows that he does not need a award to prove it but some recognition would be nice …

  • lilith

@lolita: yep, a movie about the jews is a perfect oscar bite, well played, well played…I HOPE IT WON’T WIN!

  • tgk

But she’s not completely snubbed§ Kung Fu Panda is nominated, so she’s got a movie competing! I’m sure she feels so honored.

  • Dina

No Michael Fassbender or Leo DiCaprio but Rooney Mara gets a nomination? Really?….

  • Amanda

A woman who sh*ts in a sink gets an Oscar nod, but a guy who plays J Edgar quite well and carries the entire film on his own gets nothing?

  • Carolina

    Rio deserves a YES nomination.

Are you serious where is Leo Dicaprio?? All that makeup is a ..f oscar.

  • for sure

JPs are sure to be shut out once again.

No nominations for Ticky? Best performance by sitcom actress who thought she was an A-lister movie star because she married an A-list movie star. Congrats to Brad Pitt and the cast of Moneyball. Angelina made ITLOBAH to bring attention to the tragedy of the war in Bosnia not to get accolades.

  • Grey

I am not a fan of Leo Dicaprio, but I think for him a heavy campaign for Oscar will be next year. Because he will have two big movies released this year which already created a buzz- Great Gatsby and Tarantino’s movie.
Another interesting fact is of Ryan Gosling again not being nominated when this year he was the third person after Pitt and Clooney being on the spotlight.

  • Mofer

    Michael Fassbender…
waiting for the Oscars to get a recount.

  • jon

michelle williams’ portrayal of marilyn was as charismatic as a plastic bag..
she must be one of the most overrated actresses in recent memory. gutted to see they’ve omitted tilda, leonardo and fassbender. but soon enough no one will take these award ceremonies seriously anyway.

  • Jen

I can’t believe that Leo and Michael Fassbender didn’t get nominations!
But, they Oscars usually snub Leo. I mean, the fact that he didn’t win for Gilbert Grape back in 94 is crazy! Probably the biggest snub in the history of the Oscars(after Cate Blanchett was snubbed for “Elizabeth”)

  • nancy

    Rooney Mara? hahahah
    Dicaprio? Fassbender? Tintin? Drive?
I hope its Gary Oldman. If they give George Clooney the oscar, then they should flush their faces!

  • Jenno

Holy sh!t. The Academy totally snubbed Leo and Michael Fassbender.

  • LMAO

It’s a shame for Tilda Swinton,Michael Fassenberg and Leo di Caprio!

I hope Gary Oldman will get it! Only because unlike Clooney he didn’t kiss every butt standing on his way to the Kodak theater!
Take notes Leo, if you want the oscar do as Clooney, rent a hooker a la Stacy Keibler to escort you on the red carpets!

  • George Clooney

Looks like it’s me, Jean Dujardin, and that upstart guy, what’s his name ? Pitt? Pitty?

  • vish

@Grey: Gosling is an amazing actor, but he hasn’t found the right role yet. It’s not a matter of being in the spotlight, it’s just that the movies he’s in now are not oscar material.

  • Tope

@jolie snub, for any foreign movie to be eligible for academy award,it must have been produced outside America.even though angie filmed in Europe, the postproduction was done in America.she has not even premier the movie outside the state,i believe angie knew this cos the final 10 for foreign category was released last week.

  • Tom

    Where is Michael Fassbender’s nomination?

Oscars always predictable and never take risks.

Harry Potter was one of the best reviewed films of 2011 and took so much money for American and worldwide cinema but yet can’t be given its last chance for Oscar glory.

    Shame on you Academy.

  • aaaa

I’m Heartbroken … NO Michael Fassbender !!! What the Hell ! But I am Happy for the Help and Brad Pitt and Melissa McCarthy . Just Heartbroken though for Fassypants .Love him .

  • Macchiato

WHO even nominates the people ?? no leo again ? no fassbender ? drive should habe been nominated and “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” was just and good book the film was not that great !

  • Clah

No nomination for Tilda? And Gosling? REALLY?

  • Kay

  • Annie

Dear Academy – why bother? Or, just call this what it is – Oscar Elections. He who campaigns the hardest, gets the nom, or at least in the Best Actor category. Clooney previously said this whole thing makes him feel dirty. After his fierce efforts during this awards season, he must feel downright nasty!

  • besane

@JOLIE SNUBBED: “Snubbed”?!! This was an Oscar winning actress so successfully created her FIRST directorial debut, with a very difficult subject matter. All the accolades she received is already historic. How many leading female actor successfully transforms herself into a respectable director? I know, it’s hard not to be jealous. So sorry.

  • steffy

Congrats to Brad he deserves to win but it will be very difficult..Clooney will win again UNFORTUNATELY..

clam down there angie, I know you are upset, but your film stinks!

  • Passing Through

Congrats to Brad on the 9 nominations his films received. And…SUCK IT HATERS!

  • Helen

I’m so happy that they include Gary Oldman .. He is the best and Jean dejurdin is good best of luck to them both

  • Argh! So sick of this guy!

Once again Leonardo DiCaprio gets over looked. What does this man have to do to be recognized? Seriously? what does he have to do? I saw Moneyball this weekend. It was a good movie but do I think it should be getting all the attention along with Brad? No. I’ve seen J Edgar and although it wasn’t the best movie overall, Leo’s performance was outstanding. In my opinon Leo should have Brad’s spot.

  • Raina

Where the hell is Michael Fassbender? He was brilliantly phenomenal in shame.

  • kingkasyski

Oscar is getting to be who campaigned the most,as you can see from whats Cloonys doing last GGA,he’s practically shaking hands with everybody in golden globes award, that guy is shameless !Mr.Leonardo Di Carpio is the real deal in our hearts,he don’t need the oscar to prove that he’s a talented and respected actor ,oscar is getting to be a joke anyways.Mr Di Carpio ,you can put yourself with the likes of Marlon Brando,Morgan Freeman,Clark Gable,Clint Eastwood and Paul Newman, you belong in their batch.

wow, you’re really working the boards today, take a chill pill Angie

  • mkhay

WTF is up with the Best Actor List.
    Gosling, Dicaprio, Fassbender, Levitt.
    Shame on you Academy.
