Naomi Watts Covers 'Good Health' Magazine April 2013

Naomi Watts graces the cover of Good Health magazine’s April 2013 issue.

Here’s what the 44-year-old actress had to share with the mag:

On cosmetic surgery: “Never say never – and I certainly don’t judge anyone who does it. But most of the characters I play are going through some kind of emotional turmoil, so my job requires me to have expression. If my face was froze, what right do I have to play that part? All the women who haven’t anything to their faces are still able to play great roles. And some of the ones who have done something have messed it up- they look freakish. Anyway, for me it’s about playing women with rich lives – and the longer the life, the deeper the wrinkles.”

On her favorite ways to get exercise: “I do Pilates, dance-cardio and yoga to keep in good form. I also play tennis because I love the sport. The competitive side to it makes it much more fun than just doing workouts.”

On having a family and a career: “There’s so much going on and [I’m] trying to balance being a mum with a career. It’s great that I’ve got both things but there are times when it’s a struggle. Sleep is often something I’m deprived of. But I feel so rich inside – I feel blessed to be a mother. For me, it’s been a way of fulfilling a long-buried childhood dream. I had always wanted to be a mother but when I was desperately searching for work in LA after I moved there from Australia, any thoughts of family were very distant indeed and it seemed that it might never happen for me.”

Watts should email this article to Kidman for enlightenment. She is correct with her anti-frozen face philosophy in regard to being a convincing actress.

I agree with Naomi. Nicole Kidman, who has been “doing something” to her face for years, is the most freakish of all.

    Jealous Nicole? Says:

2013: Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman have been pitted against each other over their rival ‘princess movies’ which will see them go head-to-head at next year’s Oscars. Nicole declined to appear in a pre-Oscars promo on the CBS TV network to talk about Naomi’s nomination this year as Best Actress. ‘They are usually quick to gush about one another, so producers were very surprised,’ said a source. ‘Then they refused to pose on the red carpet together at the Oscars which they usually do. Hollywood bigwigs say their friendship has been affected by the princess films.’

    Blue Says:

@Jealous Nicole?: that’s crap. I watched the oscar’s special red carpet thingy with Kristen Cehnoweth and Nicole was humble and modest and supportive when questioned about Naomi. The probblem is that both of them get asked about each other so much…if you think about it, how weird is it to have Nicole Kidman talk about another actor’s best actress nom??? She probably didnt’ want to steal her friend’s thunder. Just lazy journos trying to get an angle…

    Red Says:

Really, isn’t it better that Naomi distances herself from Nicole. After all, Kidman is box office poison and terribly unpopular.

March 2013 Ted C: “So Vita wants to know about Cruella St. Shackles (Kidman) huh? Well, sweetheart, she’s been pretty busy pretending she’s a sweetheart herself lately. Never was, particularly to her own sister and supposed best friend (Watts) who she fake airkissed @ Oscars, won’t last.”
