Chris Hemsworth: 'Thor: The Dark World' Tokyo Premiere

Chris Hemsworth proudly holds up the famous Mjolnir as he suits up to attend the Thor: The Dark World premiere held at Cinema Mediage on Sunday (January 26) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 30-year-old actor held up the same Thor hammer as he touched down into the country at Narita International Airport the day before.

“I auditioned for Thor, and I didn’t get called back,” Chris recently told W Magazine. “I was intimidated by the director, Kenneth Branagh — to me, he is Shakespeare. My brother, Liam, was luckier. He was one of the final five guys up for the part, but none of them were quite right. My manager said, ‘If you liked Liam, maybe you’ll also like his older brother.’ This time, I was pissed off. I didn’t care about Shakespeare anymore; swagger got me the part.”

No “it” factor. Hollywood created him. Told him do dye his hair blond and add some muscles. But they could not give him an interesting personality or the “it” factor that stars like Depp, Pitt or Decaprio have.

@allison: He was pretty good in the Rush movie, but doesn’t have alot of range….but he’s still a better actor than his famewhore wife. I saw less than 5 minutes of her in a Spanish movie clip (yes, she had her clothes off, as usual), and cringed at how bad her acting was.

Such negativity! -.- The fans look super happy to see him there, and it’s great that he has a lot of support from the fans in Japan. He plays a great Thor and it’s great that he’s doing promo there before Avengers.

Why there so many Cap cosplays there? Is Cap v. popular in Japan?
Chris as Thor is great. He’s a nice guy. Don’t be mean, ppl.

What is with this whole negativity? Is it some sort of troll reunion or what? Chris may not have the range of Leonardo Di Caprio (hardly any actor in Hollywood does) but he definitely owned Thor’s role just like Tom Hiddlestone owned Loki! Also Chris was pretty good in Rush and Snowhite and huntsman so he is evolving as an actor. Now he also took some more challenging roles Heart of the sea and Cyber.
Also why are you insulting Chris wife? Did she do anything to you?
