Glee's Matthew Morrison Joins 'Finding Neverland' Musical as J.M. Barrie

Matthew Morrison is slated to make his big return to the stage in the upcoming musical version of Finding Neverland, according to the New York Times.

The 35-year-old actor will play the role of Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie, which was played by Johnny Depp in the 2004 movie version.

Matthew will star in a developmental workshop of the new musical and if it is successful, an out of town tryout is being planned for this summer in Cambridge, Mass. The show will then transfer to London next winter before finally making the trek to Broadway during the 2015-16 season. Such a long wait!

If you didn’t know, Matthew is no stranger to the Broadway stage. Before joining Glee, he has had starring roles in the original casts of the musicals Hairspray, The Light in the Piazza, and South Pacific.
