Channing Tatum Confirmed for Gambit Role in 'X-Men' Spinoff Movie!

Channing Tatum has officially been confirmed to play the fan favorite character Gambit in a future X-Men spin off movie by producer Lauren Shuler Donner.

“He’s a rogue, Channing, he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau,” Lauren told Total Film on the red carpet about Channing as Gambit at the X-Men: Days of Future past London premiere. “He can handle the action, as we know, and he’s got a real good heart, I know him personally.”

“He’ll be great for Gambit, and he’s a southerner too, he understands that world, and you know Gambit loves New Orleans,” Lauren added.

Channing had expressed an interest in playing the character in the past.

X-Men: Days of Future Past opens on May 23. The next movie, X-Men: Apocalypse, is expected in May of 2016. No release date has been set for Channing‘s Gambit film.

This is wrong on so many levels, it’s unbearable. Why Gambit and more importantly – why HIM? Are they familiarized with the comic book series? Tatum is a horrible choice, that is simply beyond horrible. Stop damaging the franchise already.

NOOO! THEY RUINED GAMBIT TOO! The other guy, from Wolverine Origins, was a better fit! This guy is a terrible actor and does not look like Gambit at all!! WTFFFFFFFFF

Fox team are desperate, they talk about the future X-men franchise just to make people forget about Bryan Singer sexual scandal. But none of Fox team actually says will Bryan Singer be back in director chair. But somehow I believe X-men will make money outside U,S.

WHAT ABOOUT TAYLOR KITSCH????
My heart is crying, I really liked him in Wolverine Origins, the producers shouldn’t do these kind of action, if they want to preserve the fans.

so…when are we going to have movies that aren’t based on comic books again?

now this takes ruining to a new level. aftr ratner killed off xmen it took d amazing talent of a whole new cast of fassbender n mcavoy to revive it. vaugn ws a gr8 directr. nw this…..dey r abt to destroy a realy realy interesting charactr. tatum luks dumb n boring…..n a ****** actor…..I wonder if d big studio people even love movie making n if d comic book characters mean anything to dem othr dan money…..I spent my childhood n teenage yrs loving d coupl of animatd series…..

Nothing against Tatum personally but, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! First of all, I really wanted Marvel Studios to have Gambit in a film, not Fox. Fox’s franchise blows! The first 2 films were mediocre at best, the rest sucked. Seriously, the costumes, and make-up are a laughing stock in the previews of Days of Future Past. Fox cannot and will not do Gambit Justice. Second of all, Tatum is too bulky and not at all physically right for Gambit. He has even stated his Cajun accent sucks! This is a disaster. I have wanted one of my favorite characters on the big screen for years, and now I dread it. Taylor Kitsch may have not been my ideal choice or the perfect fit, but he did have Gambits swag, and mysteriousness, and unlike Channing he can act. If they have to have Gambit in a Fox film they should stick to the actor that has already appeared as Gambit. It is stupid to cast a completely different actor now.
Oh! this has epic fail written all over it. :(

When I think of Gambit, I think of Taylor Kitsch from Wolverine playing the part. I loved him so much in that movie that I had to check out what he had been doing previously. If he couldn’t do the movie, then okay; but, if they didn’t ask him……. I am neutral on on Channing otherwise.
