Rian Johnson Shares New Photos From the Set of 'Star Wars: Episode VIII'

Star Wars director Rian Johnson just celebrated a filming milestone by sharing some behind-the-scenes photos from Episode VIII on his Tumblr.

That day, the crew of the upcoming movie officially reached the halfway point in principal photography and Rian posted some photos of the team at work.

“I can’t believe we’re halfway through the shoot. (We’re halfway through the shoot!),” Rian wrote, alongside grainy black and white photos of some of the set being polished.

Earlier in the month, Rian also shared a photo of character Maz Kanata on a screen as well as cinematographer Steve Yedlin on set.

Star Wars: Episode VIII hits theaters on Dec. 15, 2017.
