'Ghostbusters' Debuts at Number Two with $46 Million

Ghostbusters fell short of the top spot at the box office in its first weekend, but it still put up a solid $46 million for its first frame.

The reboot of the classic franchise placed behind the animated film The Secret Life of Pets, which grossed $50.6 million in its second weekend to push its total past $200 million in just ten days.

Rounding out the top five were holdovers The Legend of Tarzan with $11.1 million, Finding Dory with $11 million, and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates with $7.5 million.

Bryan Cranston‘s new film The Infiltrator opened in the number eight slot with $5.2 million while Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart‘s Cafe Society had a strong opening in limited release with $355,000 in just five theaters.
