Dolly Parton has just announced an amazing donation to those who lost homes in the horrible fires that have destroyed 15,000 acres of land in the Great Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.

The 70-year-old country star grew up in the area, and announces that she would donate $1,000 per month to families who lost their houses.

“I’ve always believed charity begins at home, and my home is someplace special,” Dolly said in a video. “We want to provide a hand up to those families who have lost everything in the fires. I know it has been a trying time for my people, and this assistance will help get them back on their feet.”

The announcement of the charity fund, the My People Fund, will provide $1,000 each month to Sevier County families.
